December has arrived and it’s time to bring all things Holiday C H E E R to the classroom. From Hanukkah to SNOW DAYS to Christmas, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite kinder resources to add a little festive flare to mini lessons or center rotations during December.
December Interactive Read Aloud Spotlight

The December interactive read aloud kits are packed FULL with (up to 5 days) of pre-planned and structured comprehension activities that are perfect for a K-1 classroom in December. The December Bundle has 4 diverse picture books and highlight a cold weather story with a little *magic*, 2 Christmas favorites and a sweet as pie Hanukkah story. Addition and Subtraction Math Mat Centers

Dress up your holiday math centers with this set of Christmas Addition and Subtraction Mats. Not only will these mats and matching number cards save your printer ink, but they’ll also promote student centered AND hands-on learning when you toss in some fun manipulatives. If you don’t want to cut down the provided cards – just toss in some playing cards! This particular set focuses on sums/differences within 10, and I love using them as a small group tool & double exposing a similar styled mat in our weekly math rotation. December Read Aloud RETELLING

The December Craft & Retell bundle has S I X different festive holiday reads. Each kit comes with a few story printables, an adorable story craft made for sequencing and larger story cards for kiddos to practice whole group or partner retelling via an anchor chart or pocket chart. This series is great for whole group mini lessons after reading or even an independent literacy center. (Learn more about Craft & Retell on this blog post)
