I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for classics on Valentine’s Day! Mr. Hatch, Crankenstein and Love Monster are main characters that always come to mind! A new favorite (who I believe will become a classic is Cupig). All of these stories are equally cute to read aloud, but I also love using them to guide deeper discussions and practice reading comprehension skills.

Crakenstein Valentine is always a fun opportunity to retell a story as a group using chart pieces. Afterwards, littles can make their own lovable CRANK rocking some fun accessories.
Mr. Hatch – doesn’t the love run so deep in Mr. Hatch? And it’s so heartwarming. In this pack, kiddos can connect and share a little love on their own Mr. Hatch writing craft.
Love Monster – ah, who doesn’t LOVE them some Love Monster. My personal favorite in the series is Love Monster and the Last Chocolate to chat about how to be a good friend. This pack has activities for retelling, a character focus and theme.
Not partial to just one story? Valentine graphic organizers can pair with any Valentine storybook and still practice those core skills.

And if you added Cupig: The Valentine’s Pig to your collection this year – pop over to this blog post and snag a FREE activity to pair with it.
