Kindergarten crafts are truly my jam! Not only are they fun for the kiddos, but implementing a craft can develop a ton of other skills: fine motor, hand-eye coordination and spark creativity! So without further ado, Meet Count and Craft: an iSpy inspired counting mat that… wait for it, pairs with a monthly answer response CRAFTIVITY!

For each theme, you’ll get 6 different “iSpy” inspired counting mats to support counting up to 20. These print and go mats can be used in a variety of ways to engage your little learners with core counting practice using visual discimination tactics.

Make it hands on! Pair with cubes, transparent disks or your favorite dollar spot mini eraser! 🙂 For the fuller mats (reaching numbers to 20), I would suggest a smaller counter like a mini eraser or these disks. *You can grab these disks or cubes here *affiliate amazon links*. Alternatively, print the mat and use it as a worksheet or pair with an expo marker.

For each picture, students will 1:1 count and write the answer onto their mat. Use the provided answer keys to check work with ease!

For the craft part, kiddos can transfer their answers (or directly record) their answers onto the fun and simple craftivity! Since it’s seasonal, this meaningful craft is PERFECT for decorating lockers, bulletin boards, or the fridge for the month.

For my own personal use, I envisioned this activity for a weekly center or after small group follow up task! I love double exposing activities and giving that extra layer of practice. The mats alone are great for a small group warm up or center activity.
